Dr. Mario is a physician and addiction medicine specialist, triple board certified in family medicine, addiction medicine, and preventive medicine. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Information Technology.
Dr. Mario has served as the National Medical Director of Substance Use Disorders for one of the nation’s largest and most trusted health plans with a focus on caring for the most vulnerable populations. Dr. Mario is a faculty adviser for the American Society of Addiction Medicine training primary care providers across the country in better serving patients with substance use disorders. He is an active expert witness for legal cases involving addiction treatment and frequently informs federal and state agencies on issues ranging from quality of care to national healthcare policy.
Dr. Mario has been a clinical medical director across every level of care in the substance use treatment field, and he continues providing direct care for patients of all ages and their families.
